Janice Scott Staron, L.Ac.
Janice is a certified and licensed acupuncturist in IL and with the AAAOM. In addition Janice is board-prepared in Chinese Herbology. Janice grew up in Chicago and lives on Chicago’s northside. Janice had a career in healthcare administration for years before following her dream to officially study and learn energy medicine. She attended a four year Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) school in Chicago while continuing full time work at Northwestern’s Integrative Medicine Center. Following graduation Janice worked at Northwestern as an acupuncturist for a brief time, and then started her own freelance acupuncture business, and has been working steadily in Chicago, Frankfort and Lagrange IL. Janice is proud of her research work at Northwestern in the Reproductive Endocrinology Department working with fertility patients. Janice is a Reiki II practitioner, and a reflexologist. Janice works with clients in a cooperative environment and always appreciates their trust in her work. She enjoys reading biographies and memoirs, going to museums and plays, enjoying nature’s seasons, traveling and speaking Spanish. Janice studies intuition and spirituality and enjoys discovering the energy world around and within her.

Chisato loves living in Chicago for all its wonderful activities and entertainment. When she’s not playing oboe in a community orchestra or catching a free concert at Grant Park, she’s playing with her lab/cattle dog Janus or drinking her favorite IPA at a local Northcenter bar.

Margaret has been practicing massage therapy for 9 years. She graduated from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 2006. She has worked in massage therapy office settings and has her own private practice. Margaret prides herself on her thorough and comprehensive work during a standard massage session. She will pay close attention to each muscle group and direct attention to needed areas. Her standard massage combines the techniques of Swedish and Acupressure massage, with clinical work targeted at specific muscular issues identified.
Margaret’s interest in anatomy and kinesiology guide her practice. She uses body (limb) mobilization techniques to access muscle tissue and influence attachment areas. She will tailor your session to target needed clinical work for specific muscular issues. Margaret is skilled at addressing specific complaints that involve spasms, cramps, overuse, strained muscle areas, fascial and muscle binding, and general pain.
Margaret loves to read, spend time with family and friends, and travel. She enjoys taking cardio and strength training classes at her gym and has surprised herself with an interest in Zumba and Aqua Zumba.

A 1989 graduate of Class 15 at Chicago School of Massage Therapy (now Cortiva), Marilyn’s wealth of hands-on experience, coupled with staying current with continuing education courses in the health and wellness field, keep her ever-expanding repertoire interesting and varied.
Marilyn is skilled in the following modalities: Swedish/Relaxation Massage, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Body Mobilization Technique, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure, Pregnancy/Pospartum Massage*, Lymph Massage and Energy Healing (Eden Energy Medicine, Quantum Lightweaving, Pranic Healing, Reiki and Kahuna Healing).
Her ethics and philosophy of approach respectfully focuses on the client’s goal for each therapy session. As a soft tissue specialist, regard is given for each individual’s comfort with their ability to receive, in addition the shape, tone and timbre of their musculature. Marilyn’s approach incorporates knowledge of body physiology thoroughly addressing the muscle insertion, attachment and muscle belly for a complete release of holding patterns.

Since entering the world of professional massage therapy, she has only become more ambitious in revealing the body’s true potential to flourish.
In her personal life, she is runner. When she is not running, she is working out at the fitness center. She enjoys walking for miles. She is a current student earning an associates degree in diet and nutrition–an addendum to her career as a licensed massage therapist.
